How It Works
Here’s What You Get:
A website created with look-and-feel designs and flexible layouts that adapt to the capabilities of many devices and screen sizes. I create designs iteratively and use WordPress, the Divi theme with the Divi Builder plugin, along with other plugins and HTML and CSS to create a website that provides a positive user experience for the visitor. I will create templates of commonly used pieces of your site content so that, if you decide you want to add new content on your own, creating new pages on your site will not require you or your assistant to start from scratch.
Installation of WordPress and related tools
Custom designed Divi theme to match client’s branding and design specification
Security plugin installation and configuration
Form plugin installation and payment gateway configuration
Website backup plugin installation and configuration
Website integration with email services (MailChimp, AWeber, etc.)
Configuration of the site to be responsive on mobile and tablet devices
Installation of All in One SEO plugin, basic meta information configuration, image compression, and site map creation
Video-based WordPress training installed right in your WordPress dashboard
Marketing, content writing, and branding consultation related to the website
Here’s What You Need to Know:
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to review my work and provide feedback. I’ll share a development site with you and I’ll have regular contact.
You need to obtain your own web hosting, if you do not already have it. I recommend either InMotion Hosting, or Bluehost. These two providers meet the requirements stated below, provide excellent customer service, and can explain things in plain English for those unfamiliar with website tech. N.B. I do not receive a referral fee for these recommendations.
Your web hosting provider must allow clients to access the file servers. This is needed both for manual installation of WordPress in order to install WordPress with the most effective security settings, and also to be able to migrate your site from the development site to your own hosting provider. Typically hosts will have a c-panel. Contact your hosting provider if you have questions, or use the providers mentioned above. NB. GoDaddy does NOT meet these requirements.
Unless otherwise agreed, you are responsible for providing copy and images for your website pages. I will provide feedback on copy and images to ensure effective engagement with your ideal client. Content creation beyond feedback is billed as an additional fee.
Once the website is complete and final payment is made, you will receive login access to the back-end of your site. On your WordPress dashboard, you will find training on how to use your WordPress site and any installed plugins so you know how to use and maintain your site.
That said, I recommend you purchase additional site maintenance, which I offer for $150/year. Site maintenance means that I will keep your site and plugins up to date, keep licenses up to date, and respond to any security issues on your site.
